ABOUT NCJW
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), Inc. is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms. There are 90,000 members and supporters who are active at the grass roots level in more than 135 Sections in some 500 communities. NCJW is the oldest, major Jewish women's organization in the United States, founded in 1893 by Hannah G. Solomon. Headquartered in New York City, Washington D.C., and Israel, its members and supporters are organized in chartered affiliates called Sections.
